I couldn’t be more proud of French Broad Crossing’s recent designation as a Southern Living Inspired Community.
Of course, I’ve found inspiration in these mountains for many years, but it’s great to have an unqualified stamp of approval from an outfit that’s familiar with hundreds of luxury developments across the southern tier of the country.
We’ve always known that French Broad Crossing is unparalleled in what it offers residents: Not just the spectacular setting, thoughtful amenities, and access to Asheville, but also a participation in preserving this land for generations to come. This has never been a clear-the-lots-and-build-spec-homes sort of project.
But be assured that the Southern Living award doesn’t change a thing about our long-term direction. Although the magazine’s recognition will raise our national awareness and attract more prospective owners, I promise it won’t affect our core vision and our commitment to sustainability in every regard.
As we move from 2014 into 2015, I’ll keep this blog updated with events surrounding the Inspired Communities award, including themed activities and in-progress photos of the Southern Living Inspired Home being built by our partner Dillard-Jones. Groundbreaking on that showcase house is in October, and completion is set for next September.
I can hardly wait for it to start taking shape, and I hope you’ll make a point of visiting us here to share the excitement.
